What is Tubonics?
Tubonics is a standalone multilingual pronunciation search engine and real-world listening practice platform. It searches indexed video captions so you can jump to the moment a word or phrase is spoken in a YouTube video.
Is Tubonics only for Japanese?
Tubonics provides dozens of spoken-language collections, including English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, French, Arabic, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, and Turkish. Japanese has additional mora, pitch, reading, and gloss tools. Indexed clip coverage and guidance vary by language.
Does a listed language have clips for every search?
A catalog collection does not guarantee a match for every word. Search depends on the captions currently indexed. The Languages page separates available collections, current video and caption counts, and guided practice availability.
Does Tubonics have listening and pronunciation practice?
You can slow playback, replay and repeat caption windows, shadow real speech, and record your voice to compare by ear. Guided drills currently cover Japanese and English. Clip-based practice is available across spoken languages when matching videos exist.
Does recording provide an automatic pronunciation score?
Recording lets you listen to your own take and compare it with the video. Tubonics does not provide automated pronunciation scoring. Browser speech recognition, when available, is a transcription aid rather than a pronunciation assessment.
Can I filter accents and regional speech?
Optional regional controls exist for English and several other collections. English includes US, UK, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Scotland, and New Zealand. These controls are disabled by default and use title or channel hints when enabled, so some results may have unknown accents. The Languages page shows the current deployment’s availability.
How do search filters work?
Use /verb /noun /adj /adv where word-class guidance is supported, /ask or /exclaim for sentence type, /male or /female for speaker hints, topic: for context, in:VIDEOID for one video, ch:UC… for a channel, and /mix to shuffle. Speaker hints are inferred from metadata and may keep unknown speakers. The About page documents examples.
Do I need another app or an account?
You can search, listen, discover, and practice directly in Tubonics without another app. Public lookup requires no account. Saved words and tracks can stay in your browser; account features can connect to supported shared services.
What family is Tubonics part of?
Tubonics is an independent product in the Fluidity family. LyricaLearn is a separate music-focused language-learning product. You can use Tubonics independently.
Are caption matches always accurate?
Caption text and timing can contain errors, especially in autogenerated tracks. A caption match is a way to find recorded speech, not a certification of pronunciation. A video may also become unavailable on YouTube after indexing.
What does Sign Languages mean in the catalog?
Sign-language discovery is a separate visual-language use case. It is not spoken pronunciation, and English captions alone do not verify the sign language shown in a video.
Can I embed Tubonics on my website?
Tubonics offers a documented embed script and JavaScript interface. The Developers pages and Share builder explain how to mount the player, search by language, and choose supported panels.
